This is a beautiful Fluorite Octahedron with colors of pale blue zoning to deep purple. Since fluorite is a mineral it will have a natural "cleavage". When the miners tapped on the fluorite at a certain point on the mineral, the fluorite would then break on the cleavage, thus taking on the shape of a octahedron. This is still the natural structure of the fluorite. Cave-In-Rock District, Hardin County Illinois. It measures: 4cm x 3.75cm x 4cm tall, weighs 92 grams.
