This is a beautiful mammoth tooth in wonderful condition. Solid with great structure.
A mammoth generally went through 5 sets of molars, the first molars were about the size of those of a human, around 0.51 inches, the third set were about 6 inches long, and the fifth were about 12 inches long. The molars grew larger with each replacement.
This mammoth tooth was probably from the 4th set.
